Deep Thoughts
* If there is no self, whose arthritis is this?
* Be here now. Be someplace else later. Is that so complicated?
* Drink tea and nourish life. With the first sip ... joy. With the second ... satisfaction. With the third, peace. With the fourth, a Danish.
* Wherever you go, there you are. Your luggage is another story.
* Accept misfortune as a blessing. Do not wish for perfect health or a life without problems. What would you talk about?
* The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single "oy."
* Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Forget this and attaining Enlightenment will be the least of your problems.
* Let your mind be as a floating cloud. Let your stillness be as the wooded glen. And sit up straight. You'll never meet the Buddha with such rounded shoulders.
* Be patient and achieve all things. Be impatient and achieve all things faster.
* To Find the Buddha, look within. Deep inside you are ten thousand flowers. Each flower blossoms ten thousand times. Each blossom has ten thousand petals. You might want to see a specialist.
* The Torah says, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." The Buddha says there is no "self." So, maybe you are off the hook.

Thank you Sunmystic. The one I found most amusing was " * Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Forget this and attaining Enlightenment will be the least of your problems. "
So I await with ( non- withheld ) bated breath for your reply. Only dont leave it too long or I might never find this " enlightenment "

Some folks claim that if you do not find enlightenment in this lifetime, then you will find it in one of the future ones. The truth is that if a person was happy, then they wouldn't be seeking enlightenment in the first place. To hijack your topic a bit vanilla, "What do you consider enlightenment?" I have found that enlightenment means that one can tear another person a whole new reality should one choose to . Vanilla, I am beginning to think that I am approaching this enlightenment thing the wrong way. What do you think?

Re: Deep Thoughts....
I wish I could answer your question, but to be truthful, one, I'm not sure enlightenment / awakening really exists, two, if it does, would we really know that we have reached it.
I guess its a kind of calling, acceptance of oneself, feeling we will have. A calmness will overcome us, freedom, lightness in body, an acceptance of everyone and everything. A feeling of being comfortable with oneself, and within our own body. I dont believe it is something we can do to ourselves. If it truly does exist, it will know when to come to us.
Here's a few enlightenment quotes.........Link

Enlightenment according to one definition
http://www.spiritsjourney.net/t1585-enlightenment#8942
is achieving a clarity of perception, reason, and knowledge. So that would make enlightenment definitely a process. And because "to enlighten" means to instruct, we can't do it to ourselves we need outside input to become enlightened or instructed. To answer one: I am experiencing it, therefore I believe that it exists ; To answer two: You begin to change, at least in a more powerful way. Knowledge is power.
Based on my experience, knowledge only comes to me when I request it. And once I make the request, knowledge comes to me mostly from interacting with the intuitive mind (God?), but at the same time it can also come from a lot of other different sources, which sometimes takes some time for them to present themselves and some times for me to understand what is presented.
So how does one know? I guess the proof is in the pudding. Enlightenment should survive reality checks ! Constant reality checks! Otherwise one is delusional. So vanilla, what ways do you invoke your connection to the intuitive mind that creates enlightenment (knowledge)?

Re: Deep Thoughts....
I am the age I take life as it comes, one step at a time. If it happens, it happens. Some things are meant to be, other things aren't.
One thing we do know for sure, is that we all will pass on, whether rich or poor, no amount of wealth will proplong that. What happens to us at the other end, no one knows. We all have our different views and thoughts, which incidently over time could well change.

Vanilla, I would like to talk about the intuitive mind, can I just add it to the yoga forum topic that I started (yoga/union with God can be a part of the intuitive mind and the intuitive mind is thought activated) or would you prefer that I start a new topic in another forum? The topic in the yoga forum is getting consistent outside viewer interest and I would like to keep it active. What is ok with you?

Your wish is my command sunmystic. Talk, feel very free to talk.
Maybe " Self Discovery " or " Looking for Inner Change " would be a suitable home, as well as following it on from your already active yoga topic.

It subtly radiates loving life through nourishment. It stimulates the heart chakra, the life chakra, and the nourishment chakra (the throat).
Looking at your avatar picture Vanilla actually causes people to live longer

Re: Deep Thoughts....
I at times have wondered if enlightenment means to no longer walk around with blidners on.
I remember the period of time when I first heard the celestial music around my head non stop... nothing would make it stop.. I just wanted the peace of quiet again lol...Now years later I only hear it if I listen or it changes pitch. Funny what one gets used to.
There are days I long for my ignorance again. To go through the day just existing. then I would have msised out on the things I have had the honor and priveledge to get to see and hear.
How many people get to see Jesus in this life time, How many see other world beings. other then on a TV/movie screen.
How many get dragons show themselves as a cloud right in front of you just to say hi.. How many get to see their elephant totem floating by shiny and white on a cloud? How many get to sit at the feet of God at his big alabastor chair and chat and still be alive in this world.
I think I cried the most when I realized all the bugs I had killed and rocks I had crumbled in my ignorance faze before I realized they were me as well.. extensiosn of me and God. Would I kill one of my children ..never.. I love them unconditionally, they may chosoe to not love me anymore but non the less I would not crumble them and toss them so why would I toss the rocks.. Once I realized we are all one I knew what i felt enlightened meant.
My blinders were removed. I listened to the wind, the trees. I watched the animals closer and felt love for them where years before I might have thrown a rock at them. To travel within myself through my chakras to get to my merkaba to traval the universe with my mind and essence....To be enlightened is to understand parables ....plant seeds in fertile soil as the parable of Yeshua said. If one is still closed of mind and blind of the truths then the seeds will not grow on unfertile soil.

Ah Stephen.. I forgot about writing this ..was over a year ago lol
but still feel the same way.
just have become more isolated .. oh yeah and thank you
I have seen so much I often feel crazier then a bedbug yet know I am not...just don't wish to explain it to non believers anymore when I hear the portal doorways open in my home or creatures walk on my bed or whisper to me, or seeing ley lines even in my home....
or my all time favorite I have yet to find meaning for was the giant bubble floating in my bedroom with a golden triangle in the center of it... someone said God's eye but not so sure
never a dull moment lol
