Deep Breathing

Post by 7meditations on March 4th 2009, 1:01 pm

Using different breathing techniques in meditation can have many desired effects but to really relax and find a peaceful mind and body I find deep breathing to be the most beneficial.

First you take a deep breath through your nose filling your lungs and count to 5. (you can do more or less)
Next just release slowly through your mouth like your whistling without sound.

This is also known as cyclic breathing.

This is wonderful 7meditations i have used this technique many times and found by counting to 5 or higher your focus remains on your breath. There have been many times in meditation where my thoughts would wander i always bring my focus back to my breathing but with counting it is much easier to create a rhythmic flow. As you practice it becomes much easier, and if you feel the need to, you can increase the count by 1 or more seconds. I have read of techniques that go above 10 seconds but this is for advanced meditations 5 seconds is plenty for now Very Happy

Many Blessings

I have been lacking in meditation practices as of late, i was wondering if anyone knows any really simple breathing techniques i could use to become more patient in everyday life. I have become very impatient and need some tips. Thank You

Many Blessings
