Spiritual Development :: Detachment
Here is a new post on my blog. It is actually based on a dialogue I had on this forum with another member. When I was reviewing it I thought it was worth sharing with others.

Re: Spiritual Development :: Detachment
That was a very interesting post Liberated Soul!
I agree with you on what you wrote about detachment with friends and family. I'm currently going through this with my own father.
He has somehow formed his identity around my sister and I. He's been very clingy, demanding, etc.. etc.. We are now in the process of encouraging him to find his own path. He needs friends, other family, a life really...
For years I've felt guilty, because he was never happy. But lately I am learning that his issues are not mine to bear. Once I let my guilt go, he will have to carry his burden on his own shoulders. Maybe then, his burden will get too heavy to carry, & he'll decide to change his life..
Regardless the burden is his, and the choice is his too. I will always love him, but I can not be his whole world. Neither can my sister..
Thanks again for posting this..
