Planetary Periods, or Dasas
This is the method of indulging the whole life of the client as divided up into a succession of major periods (maha dasas); all with an only one of its kind centre, character, flavour, and attendant confronts and profit. Every era or dasa is then separated up itself into sub-periods (pratyantar dasas), adapting and totalling feature to the result of each overarching dasa on top of.
The utilize of dasa and sub-dasas be the source of a logical organization and telling to the way of your life through Horoscope India; just as the subdivision of a book split up its major points, and each chapter itself will have a variety of definite sub-headings.
Dasas have a mainly powerful way of effective you what kind of understanding you will have with great correctness (good or bad); and point towards what you will be focusing on (work, health, relationships/marriage, spiritual initiation, etc.). Western astrology in the very old past had alike dasa technique, but with the advent of the Dark Ages in Europe its use was totally quenched.
Vedic astrology use up transits as does Western astrology for extrapolative reasons, but transits and development used just by themselves do not tell a very absolute story for the future of any human being. The right use of transits and series as recognized in Vedic astrology is in a supplementary method to the over-arching dasas and sub-dasas above.

Re: Planetary Periods, or Dasas
Hello UNGAR41 & Welcome to Spirits Journey Forums
I am really glad you posted this as it is always good to see some of the differences in the way people understand astrology. It's always a good idea to trace the roots back to where astrology began, this is very helpful to understand how it has changed and why. The link was really informative, i love astrology and anything to do with the planets and it does seem that there is an order and balance that links us to certain cycles in the cosmos.
Thanks for sharing
Many Blessings
