What Animals and Apples Can Teach Us about Love
Prana, our beautiful golden retriever whose name means "breath of life," isn't with us anymore. She died of cancer several years ago. But, while sharing our home, she brought such joy and love into our lives that we still miss her.
There are so many wonderful stories about the love in this dog, but my favorite is one that created an indelible image of how to graciously give what is needed without reserve.

It was an autumn day in Minnesota. But, the weather didn't seem to know the difference between fall and winter. Unexpectedly, we were hit with a big snow fall for which no one was prepared.

We have two apple trees in our backyard. Prana loved apples. When she went outside, she'd grab an apple, stick it far back in her mouth, and sneak it into the house to save for nibbling on later. The apples had been on the ground and were often muddy so I wasn't always happy that Prana had brought them into the house. Sensing my disapproval, she would turn her head so I wouldn't see her hidden treasure. It was our little game.

On the day that it snowed too early in the season, Prana went outside and I watched her from the window. I noticed that she was frantically digging holes and bringing the apples to the surface so they could be seen above the snow. I wondered why she was doing this. She seemed to be intensely occupied with some kind of mission to dig up as many apples as possible during her yard time.

When I called her back into the house, she had her usual one apple in her mouth. About five minutes later, I looked outside. The yard was completely covered with birds. Prana had dug up all those apples for her bird and squirrel friends to eat. She knew that they wouldn't have stored enough food to survive such an early winter!

Tears sprung to my eyes as I witnessed this beautiful act of unconditional love from an animal who taught us how to serve life with such grace.

That is truly a lovely story of your beloved dog Prana, I understand fully what you mean by the unconditional love that is shown.
I lost my eldest baby Petra 6 months ago, when she was younger or 7 years ago when we both lived alone together, anytime that I was sad and unhappy and held my face between my hands to cry, she would always come up to me and nuzzle my face, Oh how much that done wonders for me, she always got a hug in return. I miss her very much and every morning and night i will kiss her ashes box and say good morning or goodnight baby..

Animals bring a love that humans do not. Faithfulness and everlasting love.

My daughter has adopted a dog from an animal sanctuary, called Mabel. I met her over the weekend,a spaniel with a great deal of love in her. Mabel is 12 years old with a greying muzzle and sad brown eyes.
Because she had been ill no one wanted her and they couldn't rehouse her.
So Molly my daughter took her.
A dog always gives 'unconditional' love..... Heart Pump

Here is a photo of my parakeet that died 9-15-09 I believe.
Same time I took that photo of the Native American apparition in smoke, my bird came back to give it's love.

Many friends on our last forum who saw it said they could see it. (by email) we had no photo sharing on there.

let's see if this will work...tried the easy way and it would not upload.

Oh! And the Golden Orb...this one is only the 2nd golden orb I've received.

My first had a old man sitting with his arms at a keyboard or piano. With two boys and a dog the picture. It was one of my very first orbs to understand image wise. It was one of our friends on JVP who had to explain to me what she saw and then I learned to see.
