Multiple Personalities

Post by skfarblum on August 22nd 2013, 1:29 am

I am writing this almost like a little personal documentary.
Over the last month I became aware that I am a multiperson.
This means that the person who writes this and the person who reads tomorrow may not be the same
personality. And quite likely will not even understand what I am at present writing.
In normal day to day life this multiperson is not really evident because the personalities seamlessly
blend into each other. The difference only becomes apparent in writing.Like in emails or even on discussion forums.
It has given me or should I say us a huge shock to the extent that we had to take ourselves away for
some deep thought.
What I have learnt is  that the understanding of who I am  is not a  personality.
It is true in writing like this, other people engage with a personality which may give itself a name
but it is only a representation of a deeper true me or I which can never be written about or
even known in normal discourse between people either through written communication
or verbally.
Who or what the real "I" is will by its very nature remain an unknown because the "eye" can never see itself.
All I can say about it ,it is for me a part of The Divine seeking to know itself through expressing
it's own unique identity in personality and form.
I would like to end by just pointing out something which is obvious.
It is only through experiencing that understanding comes.
In order to  experience, there is always a certain blundering. This blundering is really a blessing.
Do not be frightened to blunder and be a blunderer.
All of one is the richer for it.

Ah,the 'I am',Stephen.     This always fascinates me.
The difference who we are inside and the outside persona.
Am I correct in this?

I know myself I can be a completely different persona inside to what I show to the world sometimes.

I try to be tough outside showing that side to the world but sometimes I cry inside for my outside personality......

That's not so easy for me to answer Joan.
I see the "I-am" as a stand alone spirit entity.
In some way which I do not know and there is more I
do not know than know. The Divine  endows this body to be
the receiver and the means for a unique attribute (part)
of itself to express itself in such a manner that this facet of the
divine can grow and mature according to an innate plan within
the facet.
Our personalities are based on this plan, but not completely so
as we have to consider the influences of environment and body.
You or I that cries inside is for me one of my more gentle personalities.,
but this is only possible because my "I" is in someway immanent in my personalities.
I  am so sorry that is  hard to explain. In simple terms.
I who cry inside is another personality.

I understand this actually.
I too have many heads or personalities.
I have a  main personality that is large and in charge.
But I also have   young girl , male selfs, wanton hussy, artist, cook, healer, teacher etc etc
I have that  place deep within me where there resides a not nice person who  if you cross a line she will emerge as well.

Would I call all them in totality the I..no I wouldn't
but it is because I don't think in language like that.

It is all in totality.............Just Me in all my raw ,, often tarnished, selfs

Dear Laura,
I can understand that feel of totality. However
I find the need to step back from this totality.
I am a Gemini.I find this natural to be at least two
people.One doing another looking.
Different folks different strokes.
I think balance is the thing. If it works for one
go for it.

Now I realise,Stephen..
A sort of dual personality.   One we keep hidden and one we show to the outside world.
Silly me,I should have realised....
Oh yes,we all have all that....

Yes more or less.Just note these personalities are not split
personalities. In me they become more evident when I write.
In normal life I have to really watch carefully to find them and
even then I am not sure. You may differ on this.
The problem is,or what happened to me,once I became aware
of them ,that's it you can't go back to believing there is just one
of you.So be warned.
Once the genie is out the bottle there is no putting him back.
I am actually enjoying learning about them.

Nearly missed this....  just about to put the kettle on....
This interesting,Stephen because I have an idea what you mean.
Hard to describe.    How can I put it?    We have different facets of moods,is that it?

On the outside we are one person as friends or folks know us.   But deep inside we have different thoughts or feel another 'Joan' inside of us....

I have friends say to me 'You've changed'.   I remember when my first marriage broke down.   Now in that marriage,I was a very timid person which I knew was not really me.   I felt that my real self was being hidden.
My first hubby was a bully.    Then we split up and months later I bumped into an old friend and chattered away to her.
She was silent for a while then said...'You have changed, you have life inside of you again'.

I always am surprised when I reread my words.
I wonder where the expressions come from and how I use 'big' words sometimes too!

I'm always careful how I phrase my words but usually whatever pops into my mind, comes out on the forums.
I do find if I am angry at someone or something,I have to stop showing the anger in my posts.
Not actually at the person I am angry with but I suppose the anger must need venting...in some way.

It is always a source of mystery of how we can
read so much into written words on screens.
It is hard to hide oneself(selves) away.

I think Joan,it is age.I give way to others. They have the right to think and be what
they are.I have no one in me to defend. When I die more than likely so will my
personalities. They are not real. What they ,they are.I do not identify with them at
all.I love them and accept them.If I cannot accept myself unconditionally how
can I do that with other people.
So I just stand aside and let others be.
Also it requires such an effort to get annoyed over nonsense.
It is easier just to say "I love you" and get a good book to read.
I hope that explains things a bit.
