Well laura ann mine only came about four years ago just after I lost my late dog Petra. Everybody tells you our animals and family soon will come to say there last farewell and goodbye, as I convinced myself that Petra would. Never had really happened in the past, guess its because I never kept asking for that person to come. But my Petra did come one morning around three or four months later, and it was real, not imaginary, as I have posted before that the rest of the day I was beaming with happiness and literally floating off the ground, well that was sure the feeling I got, again never of experiencing that feeling before. Which all this led me to now believe there is more strange things in this world that we have yet to fully appreciate that can, or will occur, its down to us to keep an open mind.

Just an afterthought, maybe its all down to, " mind over matter, " maybe we could achieve anything we want, just have to believe in it, and will it to happen, like the day I was taken into isolation ward soon after I gave birth, 44 years ago. the first night I awoke literally soaking in sweat, I was not allowed out of what felt the tiniest room, not even outside the door, the window only opened a fraction, with me poking my head as close to it as I could, just to get some air. This room was getting smaller, closing in on me, I was forever splashing my face in the basin with cold water, literally wringing the top of my nightie, I just could not get back to sleep. That was until I laid deadly still on top of the bed-cover, closed my eyes and kept willing myself saying " you are getting colder, you are getting colder " I did not move a muscle, and I actually did start cooling down, and even got myself back to sleep.

My grandmother passed over and that night as I was trying to sleep, thinking about her,I felt a warm hand touch my forehead.
Very gently.....That's when my interest began....

what started your search for the truths ? 30964 , awesome topic.

My spiritual journey started with my first prayer to God in the name of Jesus Christ when I was five years old. I was born an empath and telepathic. At six I was told by my mother that folks can not hear other folks thoughts so I quit worrying about it. In my early teens I discovered that women (girls) could hear my thoughts but that men couldn't. At twenty-three I begin to explore the yogi mystic world. At somewhere in my middle to late forties I entered into exploring the computer chat room world and from there into exploring the computer message board world as it was just starting to come into existence. In the computer message board world I met all kinds of people from all over the world. Some of those people were very powerful psychics. From these people I learned that there is no such thing as distance. That all of the world can be one spot to the psychic mind. And I learned about the vast and many worlds that are available to the psychic mind to explore. Eleven years ago I met Lord Shiva and he taught me over these years what I know about yogi stuff. At this point in time in my spiritual journey I am exploring how to inter into what most folks call normal reality. I have never been normal so this is turning out to be a challenge. Love, sunny

All my life I had known I was in this world for a reason and
a purpose but never expected that my purpose would be in the spiritual. I am the first to say I never wanted the
spiritual as it was my wife who had the interest. When things started to happen to me I fought
against it for 10 years but when I developed an interest in healing that was
when spirit got their hooks into me and never took them out

It is pointless describing every thing I went through but I will
mention two things; the first was spirit took my health away so I would hear
the call of spirit and that point has been confirmed

The second point is that one day my spirit left my body and
went seeking the reason of why did I exist and my spirit knew exactly where it
had to go to get the answer but spirit would not let my spirit get their

One year after that experience spirit finely answered my
question as I had to discover for myself with a little nudge from spirit about
my existence and at the same time of that happening spirit gave me my spiritual
name which is Arbel

I wonder what affect being born empathic and telepathic or not being born empathic and telepathic has on one's spiritual journey? It seems to me that folks that are not born empathic and telepathic have an easier time with their spiritual journey and that things are less complicated for them. Being born empathic and telepathic can make one mean because they are around folks that are just not nice. And when one is empathic and telepathic these two gifts become an interesting weapon when it comes to being mean. In my reality over coming this weapon advantage has been a difficult challenge relative to my spiritual journey. My first challenge was to not be mean to nice people with or without using these gift weapons. My second challenge was to not use these gift weapons on mean people. Not being mean to nice people was easy once I found out that there actually are nice people. The not instantly going to war and invoking these gifts as weapons with mean or negatively inclined people has been a much more difficult challenge and the working to over come this difficult challenge has had a major affect on my spiritual journey. It made my spiritual journey something more complicated than it needed to be.

This could sort of lead to the question, "What things make one's spiritual journey more complicated than it needs to be?" sunmystic

I am also telepathic but only with certain people....I can occasionally hear when someone speaks from far away...

I am loving the diverse reasons people stepped on this pathway...

would you please edit this OFF this thread to another thread...please

there are many who have not added to the original discusion and I dont wish it to get turned to another one yet.... thanks you

No Laura Ann I will not. You will have to talk to one of the other administrators. If my post is deleted or edited it will set precedence and all posts that are not precisely on topic or contain things that are not precisely on topic will have to be deleted or edited and those individuals that have committed deviations from the "new" protocol that would be established would have to be reprimanded. Laura Ann I have not broken the established convention of this message board and because you asked the question "next:" without defining what you ment by "next" I have made a valid mistake "which I apologize for. Also Laura Ann if anybody else had made the post that I made you would not have filed a formal complaint. The only reason that you are filing a formal complaint is because you object to me as a personality, which you have made clear several times over the past and present. Laura Ann because I am the jr. administrator on this message board and all other administrators are senior and are my bosses and because you have filed a formal complaint, what they decide to do will be "Law". sunmystic

what formal complaint?????????? it was a simple request for a new thread started ..again NOTHING MORE ..so we would not divert from the original topic as we tend to do a lot.

Also Laura Ann if anybody else had made the post that I made you would not have filed a formal complaint.
there is no complaint or formal request.. just a simple request that is being turned into something it is not..
Sunny I have never had a problem with you other then often I dont understand your words.. I often feel you dont allow others their beliefs nicely.
I feel you dislike me greatly but I have no issues with that actually, as you are welcome to your feelings.
I simply wanted you to start your question as a new thread.NOTHING MORE

this is ridiculous

All you had to do was to PM me and I would have apologized and removed it. If there was something that you were doing that I had a question about I would show you the courtesy of PMing you to discuss it as I would anybody else on this message board. Yes, as has been said, "A person has to be themselves to be honest with them self." I do not have to be myself if I can learn a better way to do it. And I do not have a problem with exploring better ways to do it when these better ways are brought to my attention. If you or anybody else has ways that you or they think that I can be a better administrator, then I am willing to discuss it. If you or anybody else has a complaint about me or suggestions on how I can be a better administrator, then PM me and I will attempt to create a positive approach to solving it and over time getting it solved. sunmystic

What got you started ?How did your journey begin ?

My journey started almost 3 years ago while I was on vacation in MA and visiting my sister's house. My grandmother, who passed when I was 2 years old, appeared to me one night while I was sleeping in my nieces old bedroom. She appeared laying strait out off the floor in mid air with her arms around both her young boys she lost when they were young babies and at the side of the bed was a young boy about three. I knew immediately it was her and her 3 sons she lost to illness. Just before I went on vacation that year I had been doing my family tree and and I discovered she had lost her 3 sons. This was something never talked about when I was young and my father passed when I was 21 so we never knew about it. I figured my grandmother was letting me know she knew that I was aware of her loss. I was my grandmothers first grandchild and I'm sure we would have been very close but she was taken from us too soon. She is with me all the time now. I talked to her through my pendulum and I know she is my guide. I see her in my 3rd eye all the time.
So this was the beginning of my journey and since them I have just been trying to learn as much as I can about spiritualism. It hasn't happened as quickly as I would like it too because we have had many happenings in our personal lives, mostly my husbands. I have been able to help him through some terrible losses in the last few years. My knowledge that there is another side and we don't ever die, we just leave our loaned body behind and return to our spiritual one, our true self, has helped my family adjust to their losses. I believe I was meant to discover spirit when my did so I would be here for them in their need. My journey continues and this board has become a big part of it now. I love coming here and being able to share with others who understand and listen to their stories and gain more knowledge. Thanks Laura for starting this post! Good Post Wink

I do not really like to discuss how I came to my path.
I was a neglected child.Neither my mother or my father I
bonded to.I began at a very young age to fantasize in order
to try and escape the world I found myself in.I found within myself
a wonderful world of friends and people I could bond to.
In a way I still feel this world is with me.
At school I had no friends and was regularly beaten by the teachers
for poor grades.I never complained.I learnt while being caned to
dissociate from my body.
My mother committed suicide when I was 16 years old and my father
was incapable of being a father.Being the eldest in the family it
fell to me to help my brothers. This I did while studying full time at
university.
I really took of mystically after initiation into sant mat a path of sound
and light.I started being pulled into my third eye and have travelled into
many dimensions and met amazing people.
I do not see spirits outside me.All contact is always within.
I have made up with both my mother and father and totally forgiven them.
They really just did not know what they did to their children.

Dear Deb,
Thank you for your kind comment.
I had doubts about whether to leave my post up.
But something told me it is time to let go and
one of the best ways is to write about it and let
other people read it.
One thing I have actually experienced is that ,that which
is the inner source pulses. It is renewing itself at every pulse.
This is why change is always possible.
Memories make a mold, but to grow it is necessary to break
it and remake it into something new.
You are an excellent example of this.
In a way your honesty and openness
encouraged me to write about my past.
so thanks

Skfarblu, Stephen, I surely do understand that it takes a lot for one to open up about past events, situations, when these are the things we want to be shutting out of our minds. It takes courage in opening up, and there is a right time, something tells us this is the right time to post our thoughts and past stories.

We can move on, and strive for the perfect and happy life that we so deserve, but we can never escape our past. Whats happened has happened. Again may I say, " everything happens for a reason. " And to that, whether we find that reason in this lifetime or the next is anyones guess.

Very true what you wrote Jackie. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
I read today that as people age we begin to move out of the age
which we represent. We represent the first generation after the WW2.
The framework of that period has loosened and there is no longer
a need to fit in anymore. It has become easier to loosen up and stop
playing a role.
Have a nice day

Gosh Stephen, I'm humbled. Thank you for the nice comment. I love to share. Again, in my experiences, sharing has helped many who are in my life. Especially who I work with.

There is no better way to experience than your own personal experience but hearing others experiences walks you down the path to understanding and opening yourself to the possibility of openness of ones-self.
So I'm so happy to read that my openness has helped you express your feelings and memories. This is a healing process. And you have done very well.

There have been a few things I've posted here that I have second thoughts of but oh well, when I hit send I figure I've shared my experience for a reason.

You are welcome ((((( Heart Pump Stephen Heart Pump )))))

To Everyone here who has posted from their Heart Pump

We must forgive in this lifetime; it is one of our reason's for being.
I had to learn this also.

In my own being I had to forgive . . . . . .
My birthmother for giving me up for adoption.
* never holding me or contacting after the separation. (her right)
* allowing me to meat her when I found her after 31 years
* Forgiving her for becoming ill a few years after I met her.

In my own being I had to forgive . . . . . .
My parents for being strict in my teen years - not allowing me independence.
* getting beat with a cane that was a Traditional Irish Black Thorn Walking Stick (only once) see pix.
* I really had a great life growing up. Great parents, it only changed when I wanted independence. I felt smothered.
* They loved me unconditionally. I was a spoiled child in a way. Two trips to Europe 61' & 71'. Had my own room. I did not always get my own way but I think being an only child I was spoiled. Love spoiled Wink
* Forgive my daddy for working graveyard when I was young. He was gone or asleep and when John Glen went up into space I thought it was my father. Had panic attach Wink

In my own being I had to forgive . . . . . .
My parents who died early in my life.
* Mother died from cancer when I was 25. Had a stroke the day my 34 yr old daughter was born; died 5 months later.
* Father had a massive stroke 2 yr later, became a hateful of life and I could not please him. That was very challenging. He disliked my husband and was not close to my kids. My daughter was 3 when dad had a stroke, my sin was 2 yr younger. Dad lived for 9 years meant as can be.
* But now having seen him in spirit....many years after his passing in 91. He is very happy, loving, kind and loves my Tommy and husband in spirit.
* I did not see my father in dreams UNTIL I FORGAVE HIM!!!

In my own being I had to forgive . . . . . .
My husband for dying too early.
* Having 23 great years together but losing him when he was 48.
* My myself for per-judging my husband and his own habits.
He was perfect in every way after I understood how each being on this Earth has their own personality; has a right to that personality due to their path of life. I am not to pre-judge them for their actions or beliefs.
* I married him knowing he drank. Not major but he did go cruising with the guys in the back canyons or at a few local bars during our young years. He was a friend to everyone. Everyone loved him. He was a peacemaker and a kind and helping man. But I would get mad when he would be gone for hours; knowing that he was drinking. Be it with his father or friends.
* Knowing now that his drinking issues were probably a past life issue and he was in this life to overcome them. All I was doing was getting in the way!

I think we have to forgive our-selves for many things in life due to the fact that we know no better. We are learning.....that is why we are here. We only learn through our experiences.

In my own thoughts I had to forgive . . . . . .
One boss who was my husband's cousin. Who became my boss around 2001. Caring he was and friendly until one day....and due to me he had a stroke. Not at work but prior to coming the next morning to work. I had a brother-in-law who was extreamly jealous of me and my husband. (long story) This B.I.L. wanted to do harm to me so he went to work one day and cussed out my boss (his uncle) and was trying to get me fired. It caused my boss to have a stroke the next morning. He was off for 2 months, came back and was mean as ever. Short tempered and uncaring. He would cuss at us on the work radio. Framed me in a situation regarding a purchase that he signed for and I got suspended for. I wrote a poem to him (never gave it to him) that spit out all my feelings about him and his mean personality since the stroke. The best 2 weeks off of work I ever had.
* He was fired for stealing property while I was on a out of state seminar "he approved".
* Since I forgave him during my suspension.....and his being let go. I see him non and then and I give him a hug. I shared the book I edited and wrote a chapter in with him and he loved it and said "hurry and write your next book" I want the first copy. LOL

In my own thoughts I had to forgive . . . . . .
My Brother-In-Law for being the hateful, jealous, and vindictive person he was during my married years and after my husband died.
* He was always jealous of my husband. B.I.L. was in Viet Nam a short time....and when my husband told me after 23 years that he was in Viet Nam and never told anyone Harold was furious. He was mad about it. HE was jealous that my husband was building an addition for their father. He was jealous that "dad" gave us land across the street but not him because he turned it down years prior.
* had to forgive him for trying to take my house away from me after my husband died. He tried removing me from where I lived for 36 years.
* I forgave him before he died in 2008 but June 2009 at the James Van Praagh Event reading I had my brother-in-law came with my husband and was standing behind me and husband to his right. James Van Praagh said that he was there and I believe it was to acknowledge to me that he knew I had forgiven him.
(love those spiritual connections)

In my own thoughts I had to forgive . . . . . .
Myself for pre-judging situations, people and things in my younger life. Sometimes it takes us a long time to get it. This whole life path is filled with people and situations that are ONLY for our HIGHEST GOOD!!

I'm still not perfect especially at work.
Things happen that I don't understand why. But I do know that I am not responsible for other people's emotions and actions personalities etc..........................I keep reminding myself of that.

Here are some book recommendations on the topic of
* LIFE EXPERIENCES
* FORGIVENESS

One thing that ALWAYS HELPS ME CENTER.........
Is knowing that Spirit Loves Me Unconditionally!

In the book "Your Soul's Plan"

Would you like to understand the deeper meaning of your greatest challenges? I highly recommend Robert Schwartz. I was privileged to speak to him once. He is a quiet humble man. I was able to have our library carry his book. That is his goal to get as many libraries to carry the two books.

Your Soul’s Plan focuses exclusively on the pre-birth planning of life challenges.

HIS BOOKS(Your Soul's Plan and Your Soul's Gift) HAVE SINGLE E-CHAPTERS ON AMAZON.

Your Soul's Plan eChapters

Stand-alone eChapters (ebooks) are also available from my first book, Your Soul’s Plan:

Ch. 2: Physical Illness
Ch. 3: Parenting Handicapped Children
Ch. 5: Drug Addiction and Alcoholism
Ch. 6: Death of a Loved One

--------------------------------------------------- 2nd book
His second book explores two topics that don’t necessarily fall into the challenge category: spiritual awakening (though certainly an awakening can be challenging), and the pre-birth planning we do with our future pets. If you love animals you will be particularly touched to see how they agree to support us in our upcoming incarnation. Second, his new book discusses the subject of healing in greater range and depth. Third, Your Soul’s Gift explores the pre-birth planning of circumstances and experiences that were not discussed in his first book: miscarriage, abortion, care-giving, abusive relationships, sexuality, incest, adoption, poverty, suicide, rape, and mental illness.

Your Soul's Gift eChapters

Each chapter in my new book, Your Soul’s Gift, is available as a stand-alone eChapter (ebook) on Amazon:

Ch. 1: Healing

Amazon sites.)
Ch. 2: Spiritual Awakening
Ch. 3: Miscarriage and Abortion
Ch. 4: Caregiving

then of course my all time favorite of James Van Praagh.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: What the Dead can Teach Us About Life

http://www.vanpraagh.com/store/book/unfinished-business-what-dead-can-teach-us-about-life

Unfinished Business is filled with shocking and emotional stories of Van Praagh's communication with loved ones who cross over the barrier between the living and the dead to send messages to those whom they have left behind. Through these pro-found true stories, Van Praagh guides us on an adventure into the spirit world. The lessons for the living that he has learned from these experiences range from the dangers of emotional baggage caused by guilt, fear, and regret to the importance of karma, forgiveness, and taking responsibility for our actions. Van Praagh shares with us now the wisdom that, without him, we would only gain after death.

We were married 23 years. We had two children, lost one to a drunk driver in 97 before my spouse died. I started my spiritual journey when son passed; but woke up to spirituality abruptly June 2009 when I had an event reading by James Van Praagh and he brought through eight deceased relatives. I would love to be a medium in the future, and share that spiritual connection with those who have lost. I take photos of spirits in clouds. Hi Deb,
Yes to forgive in one's life time is important.
It makes it easier to let go of memories,in the
sense they no longer own us and run our lives.
What a horrible stick.Who thinks of these things?
Well thanks to Laura Ann for starting this post.
Now all the secrets are no longer so.

Oh my a TouchofHeart, this topic has really opened up many old wounds between many of us. As for forgiving, I am afraid that is one of my hardest to do, I very rarely ever forgive, nor do I ever forget what has been said or done to me by someone. I really do commend you on your part, as I read, it did not come easy, when you state... " I had to " rather than I " wanted to. "

But you know what, maybe thats the tactic I should now use. " I have to," rather than " I want to." After all it wasnt me who had, or has the problem.

Wow Deb, that cane is something it must surely have hurt! I suppose it was something his parents did to him.
My father had a cat of nine tail, do you know what that is? It hurt like h---!
Though as I got older I knew when it was coming and I would prepare and stuff towels in my pants so when I walked in the door and he swung the cat it wouldn't hurt me!
I can honestly say that type of punishment ended with him, I have never hit one of my children all their lives. Sometimes it was very hard to restrain because of what was done to me but I managed and I don't believe it is necessary in raising children. I know everyone has their own opinions and that's fine. I learned the hard way, what I didn't want to do my own children.
Stephen, I so sorry you had to endure everything you did. Sometimes it is so hard believe we plan for these things to happen. I think the forgiving is the lesson we are suppose to learn and I guess we did that.
I did forgive my father while he was still on this earth because he died a horrible death of lung cancer and we became close during that time. I had left home at 18 and lived with an Aunt until I married at 20 so I wasn't close to my father until he got ill. He died at 58. He was come forward during a medium reading and asked for my forgiveness. I knew exactly what the medium was talking about and I said I had already forgiven him.
Jackie, I had a very hard time forgiving like you have but when I read that forgiving doesn't mean you have to accept then everything fell in place and it was easy. The way I originally saw it was if I forgive someone for doing something bad, I was accepting what they did to me, but that isn't it, you are just releasing them so you can do on, now I find it a lot easier to forgive. Also knowing that most of our hurts come from our own planning, it has helped me. If you haven't read Robert Schwartz's books that Deb recommended you really should. I learned so much about forgiveness by understanding how we plan our lives.
If you or anyone else here has a Kindle I have both of his books and would be happy to loan them to you, just PM me your amazon Kindle email address.
Laura really has opened the pandoras box with this post, but I think it has been very healing for a lot of us. I know I said this before Laura but Thank You Good Post

That's right, very important.
The cane is typical of a traditional walking cane from Belfast. I think my Uncle Fred gave it to Dad.
Do not get me wrong my father was a loving and kind man well admired among friends and the community.
I just ticked him off one day. The only other time he ever laid a hand on me was at the dinner table. I didn't like peas as a kid. I really did not like them. One day I spit them out in my napkin and hid it under my leg. Dad saw it and I got belted with the back of his right hand and I fell back and hit the floor. I have laughed at that one for years.
I was Daddy's little girl and I don't think he liked me growing up LOL But it was my fault too. I was strong headed as a teen. Determined to fulfill my independent path I had set out to accomplish in this lifetime.

Even during an event in 2010 with James Van Praagh and Tony Stockwell (love that guy too) Tony gave me an audience reading at the end of his time to be on stage. He was the very first one to bring through my mom, dad and Tony said "You have a whole group of Irish Relatives in the background - they are all here" Circle of Friends

Yes it is a great post. Nothing like clearing the air and sharing experiences. Thanks Laura Ann Blow Kiss

I started to write my story.
I got so far, then I must have hit a button and it all disappeared.
I take it as not meant to be shared.

Maybe another time.

I will say, we are a group of strong, brave individuals, who have been blessed with the gift of forgiveness and love for our fellow man/woman.

Through our experiences, we have become who we are.

Much love to you all xxx
