Higher Self

Post by Guest on May 26th 2013, 2:56 am

I have recently been thinking about the higher self.
What is it and its possible origins.?
I personally suspect not all humans have higher selves or perhaps
these higher selves are unawakened and essentially dormant.
An unawakened higher self probably could allow for possession
by a negative spirit and this could explain inexplicable bad behaviour.
How do you feel about all this?
Thanks
Stephen

Interesting topic again,Stephen....my brain is rusty this morning so feeling a little not with it. Duh

Would you mean those who have no interest in a spirit world? Who just live their life without meaning? In other words,we just exist on this earth to work, eat and play?

Yes,I would think that bad spirit would take advantage of this situation. I have often wondered such as those who have a mental problem, and I mean a serious mental problem who have been classed as insane or a pathological problem could be possibly taken over by spirit. Something that the medical profession have never considered. Or have they?

Dual personalities for one and many other mental illnesses. Not a slight nervous break down through problems suffered by life.

Dear Joan,
Just ordinary people from all across the globe.
Do all have higher selves?Or is a higher self a rarity?
Is a higher self a necessity for survival?
I have no real answer.

I have met my higherself multiple times..
If that makes me insane then I gladly wear that hat.
I had her turn me into a statue from the waist down so I would not run in fear.
I had her turn me into stone from the neck down when a high level being appeared in my room so I could not run screaming.
She taught me to face fear head on and deal with it so it no longer causes fear.

I met her when she loomed up from within me to project out just in front of me
I met her in a dream/ medatative state as she walked out of a old country house. I would have liked that house even in this time period . She slowly walked down the steps looking exactly like me but a little older and little heavier. She walked to the front gate raised her head and her eyes were not there only white light.

I have seen her asleep in other realm...which in some ways validated we are all in dream state with out actual lives being projected to us.
I personally believe I have a higher self....

There is no doubt people like yourself have a higher self
who is awake and aware.I just feel that this is somewhat
exceptional. But I really do not know.
Many people in the spiritual community talk of their
higher self as their guide but again I am not certain if
they are exactly equivalent.
Thanks anyhow.

I dont find her to be my guide at all.... more like a co-author of my timeline of existance.....occasionally she became a teacher

I find we exist as one entitiy...

As I begin now to understand the higher self is for you actually You.The sort of greater You.
Not a different being at all. That is why she resembles your appearance.
That makes sense.
Thus I would imagine all humans will have higher selves. Some higher selves aware and I suppose some not.
Thanks very much.

that is exctly how I would describe her.
it is like she sits back filing her nails or something lol... and when I step off my path she steps forward and bring me back on track.
She is the enlightened me who is patiently waiting on my unenlightened version of me to remember what I already know.
then the more I remember the more we coexist with my lesser self aware of her.

hope that made sense...

Well, not everyone has a higher self. It is like a child learning how to walk, one could say that this child has a higher adult self, but this is not exactly true. And in order to experience one's higher self potential there are certain areas of the brain that has to be awake and have a certain neural development density. Some folks are born with this neural development density and some folks are not. Folks that are born with this neural development density can learn to develop their higher self potential. Folks that are not born with it have to develop the neural density first. Because we are all made in the image of God, for lack of any other term, we all have the potential of developing a higher self state of being. Because a lot of folks are born with this neural development density their challenge for the most part, should they choose, is to come to some kind of rapport with this higher self abilities and awareness and potentials. One's higher self when woke up and at rapport with is the adult you walking with the other adult beings and some of these beings are pretty good folk and some are not. And one in this higher self state of being can also be directly connected to the "profoundly powerful force" should they wish to be, but they do not have to be. That is my version and most folks have different versions than mine. With that said, my suggestion to the poetic version folk is to go out there and live in this higher state of being reality. It can be a dog eat dog reality without any poetry just like normal life can be. There are parts of Heaven so to speak, that are not civilized. Good topic Stephen. sunmystic

Dear John,
I am in total agreement with what you wrote.
What I particularly like is
"it can be a dog eat dog reality without any poetry just like normal life can be. There are parts of Heaven so to speak, that are not civilized"
The general idea seems to be some idealized "Summerland".
Nice to know there could be some jungles and deserts.

My little addition to our discussion involves what John wrote above.
My awareness has changed.I am beginning to see the world in my awareness and
me as a focus of awareness interacting with appearances in this personal field of awareness. No real outside.
This I take it could be due to my higher self.
It is no big deal but it is interesting.

Stephen you are doing really great. And Stephen you are playing with and exploring some really advanced stuff. Some where along the line, if you continue, you are going to reach the "I am God" experience. When this happens you are going to want to share this epiphany with others and of course they will not understand. Generally when one experiences the "I am God" experience they come to the conclusion that they are God or we are all God and that God is in everything. Now what is actually happening when one reaches this state of higher self awareness is that they are looking at what they truly are and they are not actually looking at God. Most folks come to the conclusion that they are experiencing God because only God could possibly be what they are experiencing when in fact what they are experiencing is themselves. In truth one is a god and one is in everything and what one is experiencing is one's higher self, not God. God, as you and I have explored before, is something that is totally different than this higher self experience. Generally this reaching the "I am God" state of awareness is called by the yogi folk and some New Age folk "self realization". And it is "self" realization. When one reaches this "self realization" higher self awareness state they then encounter a choice between becoming an independent god, so to speak, or going on to become connected to "the profoundly powerful force" which is true "God realization". Now one needs to understand that it is perfectly alright to stay in the "self realization higher self state of being" and not go on to become connected to "the profoundly powerful force". In fact most of those that we consider higher beings are beings that are in the "self realization higher self state of being". They are not connected to "the profoundly powerful force". And this is ok and it is not a problem. In an ideal world one who is in the "self realization higher self state of being" would be a loving compassionate entity, but in truth most are but some are not. Conventional wisdom says that those that are not loving and compassionate beings are in a lot of trouble, but that is something that we are all going to have to wait and see. Love, John

Dear John,
You have given a really nice description of
"self realization".
At this point goals seem really less important than
the doing. It is very gratifying just to be what one is.
Which I can not define. It is very liberating not having
to be anything or aim for anything.
You use the word "just is".
Very true.Thanks
and have a good day
