Ideas for the future of the forum
I would like to see this forum changed to a collective ownership and administration.
I envisage a type of "Boutique" forum. It remains small, personal and all who join it are
equal in it,both as owners and administrators.
This way the forum is not dependent on any one person.
How do you all feel about this ?
Stephen

No problem,Stephen.
The site needs more members to keep the forums going and more varied topics.
Excellent site.....

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
Oh and this, the more global moderators that are around and participating the happier I am . As far as I am concerned during this phase of this message board's life, you guys are all my bosses even though we are at this time technically equal. That is what I am most comfortable with and that is the way I want it to be. Just love! john

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
And if the phpBB message board management says that only one person can be "founder" and then that person can then assign full administrator privileges to whoever they wish to, then my vote will "always" be for Mia. She is actutally the reason why this message board still exists. Her interest and effort has brought this message board back to life several times. She is tried and true and my vote will always be for her, if she is interested. And once this message board is safely in loving hands I will wander off to do other things. That is not a problem. Love, john

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
Many thanks Sunny for your kind words, but, I hardly use message boards now.
I have a spurt now and then, but I couldn't be relied on to be there when needed.
I do pop in now and then, that's all though xxxx

Ah man! Darn. Well it is sure nice to see you here now and to have you for a while. I always seem to be leaving but I never seem to leave. Thanks to the excitement of the "Imageshack" advertisement and the absent owner issue I joined phpBB to help Laura (which turned out she didn't need any help, which is not surprising), I can now have a free message board of my own if I wish. And being the owner/founder of an obscure little message board lost in the highways and byways of the internet appeals to my reclusive nature. Stephen thinks it is a good idea and he wouldn't steer me wrong. The only thing that I really know anything about is metaphysics so I guess it would have to have a metaphysics theme. And I am kind of curious to explore the bells and gongs that phpBB owner/founder's have at their disposal as God the administrator just for fun. I am not going to post or advertise the address to it and if folks off the internet highway find it and want to stop and visit, I will visit with them just for fun. I am looking for something to do this fall and winter and the fates seem to have presented a creative possibility. Glad to see you again Mia and if I can't vote for you, then I am going to abstain, which is legal in the rules of parliamentary procedure. And Mia all you would have to do is to hold the reigns long enough to give "everybody" owner/founder privileges. And Stephen's idea will be instigated. And you could be trusted to do that. Love, john

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
To be honest, my thoughts are Laura would make a very very good 'owner' of the board.
She has so many gifts and so much knowledge and a nice way of getting her thoughts across.
I am tied up with work and family ..... always someone wants me at the moment.

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
Dear John,
If you do start a metaphysical forum I hope you will let us know.
After your explaining that this site is wide open to a troll attack
I am a bit nervous about things.

What Stephen is proposing and if everybody agreed to it, it would create the same reality as the French Revolution did, which would be interesting to watch. And as you know Mia, Laura and I do not get along. For some reason our personalities "clash", which is probably "all" my fault. If the active members of this message want to elect Laura the God of this message board, that is ok with me. I do not mind. I am just "passen through" anyway . And I am writing "the book", and the "absent owner/founder" issue would make an interesting chapter . Anyway Mia, you are loved! And I will always think of you as my English "sweetheart", and friend. love & xxx, john

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
I have been reading through the Free forum support. The easiest solution could probably
be to get the name and password of the original owner. Then one of us could become admin.

Stephen , the only way that you are going to get the address is to agree to be co-founder. There will be no obligations, no pressures, and you do not have to do a single thing if you do not want to. Basically, if something happens to me, then you can settle the affairs of the message board. Other than that, what you do, if anything, is totally up to you. All is well. You can be silent or noisy or anything in between. I don't mind. All I ask is that you settle the affairs of the message board if anything happens to me. You are loved! john

Works for me . How this gets solved is just way too interesting to me. The rules that the phpBB management have created also creates the possibility for an unattended message board to become an upper level phpBB management problem and embarrassment. I have seen a message board go terribly wrong and the message board service providers had to take over and declare martial law . Talk about a "gold rush" town straight out of the old American wild west with no law and order. That was the greatest experience that I have ever gotten to experience as a student of message board behavior! Whoa! Love you, john

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
Dear John,
Let me put it like this.
The present forum is not secure from trolls and hackers.
It would be sensible to create a secure forum for all of
us posters. We do post sensitive material.
Would you be willing to offer an invitation to all our
present posters to join a new secure site of which you and I
would be co founders?
Stephen
P.S I will be heading for bed in about 30 mins.So I may only pick up
the conversation later.

Re: Ideas for the future of the forum
I had not read all of this thread before.
I like the idea of a new forum .... start all over again ....
Maybe copy and save some posts/thread, cos there is a lot of interesting and valuable info here.
I, myself, am going to take a lot from my 'personal' thread.
I also don't mind being admin/mod, albeit a part time one xxx

I do not mind moderating or working with other moderators. Handyness though would be that the dog gone administrators and staff would set up some kind of moderating protocol . Also I would like to moderate the "Discussions in Metaphysics" forum and the "Free Tarot Card Readings" forum (tarot card reading is a part of metaphysics and I do have experience with tarot card reading). We should also keep in mind that Spirit Being has the on everything that is published on this message board and that his permission is required to transfer anything (at least legally speaking). Don't worry about mistakes, we are all human. And learning a new task always requires a learning curve. All is well! Love, john
